Carlo Moretti was an influential Italian glass designer and entrepreneur, known for pushing the boundaries of traditional Murano glassmaking. In 1958, he co-founded the Carlo Moretti glassworks on Murano Island, where he introduced a new vision for glass production, blending traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design. Moretti is celebrated for his innovative use of color, transparency, and geometric shapes in hand-blown glass, producing a wide range of vases, glasses, and decorative objects that redefined Murano glass as a modern art form.
His works have been exhibited in renowned museums such as the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, and the Centre Pompidou in Paris. Beyond glassware, Moretti’s designs made significant contributions to the fields of interior design and luxury decor, helping Murano glass gain global recognition as a symbol of refined Italian craftsmanship.
